I wanted a iphone and my mom bought me a 7! Not the 8?
I'm so upset! My mom got me an iphone 7 for my birthday, but I wanted the new 8 and the X was just too expensive she said, but the 7? She bought me old phone! I know the 7 is water resistant, but if I drop it in deep enough water will that ruin the phone? Cause then I can get the 8 please help!

So, 1, the iPhone 8 has been out for a few days and is expensive, and 2, deal with what you get. It's an iPhone.They're all the same pretty much. It shouldn't make a difference. You should be grateful for what you were given. Don't complain and enjoy what you were given.

Just so you know. Either you mother spent the $550-$650 and purchased that phone outright, or managed to get you that phone by doing a new account or an upgrade.
If you damage that phone and she has insurance on the phone, They're only going to give you another iPhone 7… After someone pays a $120 deductible (at least).
So if you want an iPhone 8, after all the money spent on the 7, someone would have to pay an additional $700-$800 for that phone.
Be happy they got you a decent phone. My children didn't get a nice phone until they were 18, had jobs and could buy it for themselves (or give me the money so I could get it for them).
They learned to make do with sub-$100 phones until then.

- My teacher stole my phone! And my friend's She said she wanted an iPhone 11 and a Huawai Mate so she just took them? She collected them before we watched the movie saying she wanted no interruptions but she just stole them.
- My mom and i got the same phone and same plan yet her internet loads all the time and mine never does? Two iPhone 7+. Same unlimited data plan. Yet literally no matter where I'm, nothing that uses data loads unless I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Yet my mom's internet loads no matter where she is. It's even happened that we're in the same place trying to load the same thing and hers loads while mine doesn't. Yes, I have my data turned on. I've made sure all my data settings are identical to my mom's. So i really don't know what could be causing this.

- IPhone 6s plus or 7 plus. I know the prices and what they do. But what I wanted to know is Did the 7 fix the home button problem? That s my main worry. I use my phone to text, check facebook, candy crush, look up info, and take the odd picture… Will I notice the difference between the two phones to be willing to pay more for the 7? Hoping for opinions for 6s plus and 7 plus from past of present owners.
