If a guy didn't respond to my first text, should I text again?
Two days ago I got this guy's number, by asking him. He smiled at me and made eye contact and gave it to me, and he seemed interested in texting me. I told him during the conversation that I would text him that afternoon, which I did at around 4 pm. I said "hey it's _______ from school. " so there wouldn't be any of the "who is this" thing. Well it says it got to him, but I don't know if he read that because you can turn that off on iPhones. It's the correct number, because I confirmed it with a friend. Well it's been two days, and he hasn't responded! And he said he wasn't doing anything this weekend.
I only have two theories as to why he hasn't responded:
- He got his phone taken away
- He typed a response and forgot to send it
But since it's been two days, do you think I could send a "hey, how's your weekend?" or something like that? We've never texted before, and we're in 8th grade. And I did say I wanted his number to be friends with him, if that makes a difference. (even though I like him I want to become friends first)
Also, he seemed interested, genuinely so I'm not sure why he wouldn't respond. And why would he give me his number if he wouldn't bother to respond?

Just ask him "You there?" once more, if he doesn't respond it might be many things but don't worry, just talk to him in person tomorrow.

I think the dorky thing is here is that you should have spent some time speaking to him in person so that he feels the reason why texting you would be a good thing. Also having a guy's number is no guarantee of anything. Try to imagine what is in his head. Has he shown signs of liking you? Does he like someone else possibly? He likely has seen past the 'I just want to be friends' statement. He is probably wondering how to handle the situation. And as he knows texting a girl is flirting, he won't flirt if he doesn't actually like you.
- What to do when a guy doesn't respond to your text? He was texting me a little bit today and I asked him a question and since I have an iPhone it shows that he read my text but he hasn't responded. What should I do? Should I send him another text?
- What if I didn't charge my iPhone 5 before using when I first got it? So I just got my first iPhone ever and didn't know that you're supposed to charge it for 8h first before beginning to use it. I charged it (even though it looks fully charged) as soon as I got home but as it was charging I sent out a few smses. Anyway so I never took it off the charger but Mum says that cos I already started to use it, it will never work at its optimum anymore. Is that true or is it still safe since I used it while it was still charging?
- Pics appearing again n again in Iphone even after deletion? Some one has clicked my pics from i Phone. I have also deleted it from his camera roll and photo Stream but still he is able to recall that pic again n again. Person is not using i cloud i have. May be using some kind of app i have no idea. Can somebody help me here?
- My iphone will not respond, what should i do? I went into cydia and the reloading data thingy popped up. I let it do its thing, but it never went away, so I tried to exit cydia and found that my home button was not working. Then, I tried putting the iPhone to sleep, and that button didn't work. It's at like 25% battery, so I might just let I t die. Any info would be nice in case it happens again
