If I purchased my iPhone 6 Plus in full price from Tmobile, can I have my carrier switched to Metro Pcs?

If I purchased my iPhone from tmobile in full price, is my phone unlocked to be switched to a new carrier? Also, if not will tmobile charge me to unlock my phone?

Since your phone is paid off you should be able to unlock it, I think they told me after 4 weeks and most phones can be unlocked through an app.
Since Metro Pcs is owned by T-mobile it is possible you will not need to unlock it to change. I did not have to unlock the AT&T phone to use on Cricket which is owned by AT&T.

Ask the Metro Pcs guy to see it your phone needs to be unlocked to use.

When I asked t-mobile doesn't charge to unlock phones once they are paid off although I haven't tried because I haven't wanted to replace current phones or change companies.

  • Will metro pcs have an iPhone 5? Since Tmobile bought metro, will metro PCS also sell the iPhone 5 & when might it happen! I'm in TX, I don't know if that would matter but yeah.
  • Will I get a free iPhone 6s if I switch from another carrier to Metro PCS? I'm a Cricket Wireless customer, thinking about switchi g to Metro. If I switch will they give me a free iPhone?
  • Tmobile iphone on metro pcs? Recently i just read that tmo and metro had joined forces… Just like simple mobile… My question is will my locked phone work on the new metro pcs. Network, i'm wondering since simple mobile used to work on my locked tmobile iphone 5, and since metro and tmbile are together… Will it work?
  • IPhone 5 carrier name from T-Mobile to Metro PCS? I have activated an iphone 5 with Metro PCS, I had previously been using an iPhone 4 here as well… I noticed that when inserting the SIM card, my carrier name would say T-Mobile, but then switch to saying Metro Pcs. With the iPhone 4 it would always stay as T-Mobile. Why does this happen? Does this change anything? Can I make it stay as T-Mobile?
