If I put a sim into an unlocked iPhone 5, will it charge me money right away?

So I recently bought an iPhone 5 and is currently stuck on the SIM activation page. I went on eBay and just bought me a nano SIM card. (Verizon). I know it won't work because the iPhone is GSM, but I just want to bypass the SIM activation page and use it as an iPod touch for a month. Will this work? And I plan on throwing away the SIM once I reach the home page. Will I be charged for putting the SIM in just for the activation?

You definitely shouldn't be, especially if the SIM isn't activated with Verizon. Even if it was, you wouldn't be charged. They would have no way of legally knowing who exactly is using the SIM. If it is currently active, then whoever activated it would be charged as they would have already been. It doesn't change anything that you put it in your phone. It just allows the phone itself to be used. You should be fine, as long as the CDMA card can comply with the activation requirements of the GSM phone.

Second day, i put this sim card into another phone that was unlocked, called it and it worked.   • My iphone 4s was stolen and I replaced it right away with my old sprint phone? But now everyone who is txting me on an iphone it goes to the old iphone and the man who stole it is responding. I never signed up for ICloud or anything. How can I turn off imesaage on my old Iphone 4s, if I don't have it. Or how could I completely turn off that phone. We already called sprint, they had no idea what to do.

  • If I put a SIM card into an unlocked iPhone will it lock it to that phone? I recently received an unlocked iPhone 5s as a replacement from LifeProof. The point is, it says ATT unlocked. It says SIM required when I turn on the phone. I have a sim card but it's from my current service which I'm going to cancel so I don't know if there's a way to bypass the sim required. Or if I use my current sim card will I no longer be able to use another one?
