If I reset my iPhone will it update to ios7?

Ok I synched with itunes and my iphone 5 became garbage. But I have ios 6 and want to do factory reset to fix my iphone but afraid if I do a reset that will make it update to ios 7

So will a reset update to the ios 7 or will it just keep my ios 6

Factory reset meaning to restore the phone through itunes. Yes, it would. Another way is Settings-General-Reset-Erase all content and settings. This simply totally erases the phone instead of restoring.

No. It will not upgrade. The only way you can upgrade is Settings > General > Software Update.
