You should never include your sim card when you sell your old phone. Your sim card has important details on it, and if in the wrong hands would not be good.
If you have a phone plan, and someone gets your sim card, then they could end up using all your minutes which you would get the bill.
Take the sim out and delete all your information on the phone. Resetting your phone to factory settings would be a good idea. Then you can sell the phone clean without having private information in it.
