If I unjailbreak my iPhone 5 will Apple fix my lock button?

So I pre-ordered the iPhone 5, and got it on the day it was released. So it's technically still under its 1 year warranty. I jail broke it about 3 months ago, and since then the lock button has stopped working. My boyfriend who got his phone the same day, doesn't work either. Nothing is psychically wrong with it, just doesn't lock/unlock the screen. If I update to ios7, or unjailbreak it, will apple be able to tell it was jail broken at one point? Or will they still fix it?

No, your warranty was void when you jailbroke it.
apple can tell in 2 seconds it was JB no matter how many times you restore it.

Besides the buttons my iPhone is in perfect condition. My phone carrier is straight talk, from Walmart. They don't offer insurance or a warranty or anything like that. So I was wondering if it was possible to replace these buttons?
