If I upgrade to a iPhone 5 can I transfer everything from an iPhone 4?

Yes just plug your phone in your computer and connect to iTunes. Backup your phone to iTunes which there should be a YouTube video explaining how to do that. When you get your new phone it also asks if you want to create as new phone or use old settings and apps
