If iphone is stolen, how will Find My Iphone
I'm just curious on the usefulness of the Find my Iphone. I tried using Find My Iphone to test to see if it detects my iphone and it doesn't. Then i realized that the Wi-Fi was turned off on my phone. Now IF someone did steal my iphone at like a train station. I doubt that my phone would be connected to the Wi-Fi or they would turn it off through the control panel. And i don't have 3g, 4g or LTE. So how would Find My Iphone be useful in getting my phone back?
The phone would need an internet connection in order to be located using Find my iPhone. All iPhones have the ability to use either Wi-Fi or a data connection & if you don't the person responsible would eventually try to.
It can only tell you the last time you were on Wi-Fi. So if you just lost it. The phone could be there. Other than that FIND my iphone won't help unless they use it to access the internet. (Go on Wi-Fi at home)
- My iphone was stolen. Find my iphone tracked it 15 miles from my house. Should I call police? It happened two weekends ago and I don't think the person ever turned it on until today but I got an email saying it was turned on, lost mode was activated so it locked itself, and it has tracked it to a city about 15 miles away from my house at an apartment complex. I don't think it would be necessary to go there and start knocking on doors. Should I contact police? Its an iphone 4.
