Is Incognito Really Private? - 1

So i go on Incognito a lot (I don't do anything bad). I don't like the history being stored andamp; all that. I read Fan fictions, i go on Facebook, Twitter, andamp; that's all. I was on Facebook the other day (Incognito) My "Step-Dad" Said, "She's on private again" andamp; before he has said, "Incognito doesn't make your things private". Could he be trying to scare me? Or could he be watching what i was doing from his iPhone or laptop? He seem's to only confront me when he is on his phone or laptop.Andamp; he has access to everything. But, i honestly doubt he has a key logger thing. I use Google.

This is directly from Google Chrome's Incognito page; Pay attention to the last sentence.:

"You've gone incognito

Pages you view in incognito tabs won't stick around in your browser's history, cookie store, or search history after you've closed all of your incognito tabs. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be kept.

However, you aren't invisible. Going incognito doesn't hide your browsing from your employer, your internet service provider, or the websites you visit."

There are two rules when it comes to the Internet:
1. There's no such thing a being truly 'anonymous'.
2. Common sense is the best form of security.

Here's how incognito mode works:
-Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito aren't recorded in your browsing and download histories.
-All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows that you've opened.
-Changes made to your Google Chrome bookmarks and general settings while in incognito mode are always saved.

Look at it from this perspective: your house is a company, your dad is the IT personnel responsible for keeping the network up and you are an employee at the company. You are the highest security risk at the company because you have no idea how computers works and it's a part of the IT security teams job to make sure you aren't doing anything that could harm the company. Your right to privacy exists only in the space between your ears and what you may write down on paper.

Even with using Incognito, there are various other ways to track your internet usage inside and outside the home (without having to sit at your PC). If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about. Always assume that you're are being watched… Because you always are by someone.
