IOS 6.1 IMessage sends texts as emails?
Yesterday, I updated my iPhone to iOS 6.1 and today, I noticed that it was sending my iMessages from my email address. I tried to change the "Send/Receive" settings, but it only allows me to use my email. I've checked everywhere in settings, and it i couldn't find anything. Is this permanent with iOS 61. Or can I change it?
I believe you always use your email address because that's your apple ID that you use to send the messages in the first place

I'm having a similar problem. I can only send/receive imessage via my mobile number and not my email. Trying to send a message to an email simply reverts to MMS via the carrier. They clearly broke something AGAIN. Look for a 6.1.1 update to address this issue.
- My iPhone 4 receives and sends text messages but can't send or receive photos? Barely bought a new iPhone 4, put my sim card into it and the iphone won't let me receive or send picture texts. I can send message texts and receive them, but not picture ones. It keeps giving me an error (red exclamation point) on by my picture. Tried all your suggestions. Still doesn't work and yes I can attach to emails and stuff but just can't text photos.
