IOS 6 iphone 3gs cydia problems?

I've recently tried jailbreaking my ios i phone 3gs with redsnow. The program worked out great, but cydia was never installed, despite the fact that i have the latest version of redsnow. I also tried this process more than once, and tried only checking the "install cydia" section. Does anyone have a fix to this problem?

Now I do not need cydia anymore, I can delete it by deleting its packages. But what will happen to the app that is installed using cydia if I will remove cydia?
