IPhone 3g needs to be updated

I have a jailbriken iPhone 3g iOS 3.1.3 with cydia which I want to update to 4.1.2 (as its the highest for 3g). I want to know if I can update it by directly downloading the software and then shift+Restore or I have to first un-jailbreak it.

Firstly I would like to tell you that the latest iOS supportable by iPhone 3G is 4.2.1 and since you are on 3.1.3 you first need to upgrade it's iOS to 4.2.1 and then have a jailbreak so that you can use cydia

  • Why does my iphone 4 keep saying it needs to cool down? My iphone 4 keeps saying that it needs to cool down yet its not even hot.It'll work for about 5 minutes then go back to the temparure screen. Turning it off and on helps but only for about 5 minutes.
  • Which eBook app fits my needs for my iPhone? I want to download an eBook app for my iPhone 4S where i can transfer my eBook files from my PC to my iPhone. I don't want an app where my only option is to buy/download books from the in-app eBook store.
  • Wet iphone needs itunes restore - what data is Lost? Fell in water… Powered up after rice bed for 12 hrs- saved phones pics vids etc to desktop- … Recv'd texts then phone acted up and is in now STUCK in a RESTORE (apple) logo screen. MODE- rebooting- IF I restore- will I loose EVERYTHING ---pics etc.texts contacts etc. I have icloud with contacts there- but what about my apps? Last sync'd months ago.
  • Needs help trying to start iphone 3gs? I tried to restore my Iphone but it wouldn't turn on. Do you think it's broken or it's just something else? Because I've tried everything to make it start up but It won't.
