IPhone 3g not connecting to itunes at all?

I went to connect my iphone 3G to itunes this evening, had this phone over a year now and have had no trouble connecting it before, but tonight it won't connect at all. It makes two beeping noises when I plus it in, but it doesn't show up on itunes or my computer. I have tried charging it, and that works fine, no problems with charging just connecting to my computer. I have uninstalled itunes, reinstalled it and i have googled it for the past 2 hours but nothing works. Any advice? I have also tried restarting my computer, but that doesn't work. I'm on windows by the way, not mac or anything.

Try doing a hard reset on your phone. Hold down the power button and home button together until the apple appears on your screen. After it boots up try connecting. If that doesn't work you may have to do a forced recovery. To do that you hold down the home button while you connect it. If it recognizes it you will have to restore it.
