Iphone 3g on straight talk - Wi-Fi and cydia problems?

So basically, here's what has happened:

I bought a jailbroken iphone 3g from a friend. I activated a Straight Talk sim and added a service plan and could text and call. I couldn't use the Wi-Fi or internet though and couldn't change the APN settings because "cellular Data network" wasn't showing up in settings.

I talked to someone at a local AT&T and they told me Cydia was causing the problems so do a factory restore in itunes to unjailbreak it. I did that, which locked the phone back up AND the Cydia app is still on the phone. I got the phone professionally unlocked, reinserted my Straight Talk sim, but now I still can't access Wi-Fi or internet and now I can't even text or make calls!

Can anyone explain what's happening please? I've been searching the internet for days but I can't find an answer anywhere and live too far from an Apple Store to get immediate help and I emailed Straight Talk customer service but I haven't heard back yet )

  • What will happen to apps installed via cydia if I will delete cydia? I jailbroken the iphone for the purpose of installing an app which is not available in appstore. Now I do not need cydia anymore, I can delete it by deleting its packages. But what will happen to the app that is installed using cydia if I will remove cydia?
  • Straight Talk iPhone Problems? I recently got an iphone 4 for straight talk. already set it up & everything. I talked to customer service & they told me to wait for the number to transfer from my old phone.however, i don't see anything on my iphone telling me it's activating although my other phone isn't working. My other phone is transfering i think because it's not letting me make calls or use 3g or anything. has this happened to anyone else? Straight talk told me it could take a couple days.
  • Straight Talk and iPhone 4s (VSW towers) I recently bought an unlocked iPhone 4S (originally from AT&T) from a lady at work. I'm switching to Straight Talk. In my area, Verizon gets the best service. I know that ST uses GSM phones. Another lady at work says that her family got ST phones that use Verizon towers. I was curious if ST uses Verizon towers and if this iPhone 4S will use those towers when I activate and port my number? I want to have good service, so I'm hoping if it will bounce off of the Verizon towers here.
  • Is talk talk having problems with its Internet connection? I'm with talk talk and my Internet has been off since this morning. I've unplugged the router and plugged it back in, but that made no difference. I'm using my iPhone which uses 3G
