Iphone 3gs constantly rebooting ios 5.1.1 can't update?

Have and iphone 3gs, never jailbroken it before. I updated it to ios 5.1.1 but now i have a problem. The phone is rebooting every 2-3 minutes. I tried updating to ios 6.0 but it keeps getting errors as the iphone is rebooting constantly. How would i be able to update to ios 6.0. If i put the iphone in recovery or dfu mode would it keep on rebooting

Added (1). Iphone 3gs is compatible with ios up to 6.3.1. I have another 3gs and it runs smoothly on that. I have done some research and apparently alot of people have this problem on ios 5.0.1 and 5.1.1

It's because your phone isn't compatible with I. O.S 5 upwards because its such an old model, the only way to sort the problem is to get. New phone basically.

So my friend tells me I should update it to ios 6 maybe that would help. So i update it, and everything seems like its fine then like 20 min later it did it again. And it keeps doing it every minute or so. And when it reboots it brings me back to the set up menu. Any solutions or fixes?
