IPhone 3GS has white screen when home button is pressed, why?

Our iPhone 3GS has a white screen when turned on in any way. The off button hasn't worked for months so I can't power it off. It had just ran out of battery so I let it charge, now the screen is just white when I turn it on in any way. Please no hate.

As an Apple geek, The iPhone 3GS is old. I actually got rid of my 3GS in March and got a iPhone 5c. My 3GS was very slow and constantly crashed out of apps. I recommend getting a new phone. And if you can't do that then just HOLD DOWN LOCK BUTTON AND HOME BUTTON. IT WILL RESET THE PHONE WITHOUT ERASING THE INFO ON IT

If it only happens on home screen it must be software issues, if your turn off buton doesn't work let it out of charge and charge it back to turn in on, if it doesn't work you can try restoring it from itunes on your pc first make a back up of all your data if is necesary

Iphone 4S is free on a 2 year contract, why not go that route and get a free upgrade?

  • White Screen of Death on My IPhone 3GS After Replacing Screen? I recently replaced the cracked screen of my IPhone 3GS. After reassembling it, I got the White Screen of Death. I've tried holding the power button and the home button to try to reboot, but it does not work. The phone seems to still be working normally other than the screen. In fact, it is currently playing music. Does anyone have and suggestions on how to fix this?

  • My iPhone 5 screen started making this clicking sound when pressed on? It sounds like the home button screen "pop" when clicked. It's on the top right and when it's pressed on it pops. If I take it to Apple will they replace it for free or give me a new one? I bought it through verizon and I'm not sure if I still have guarantee thing going on.
