If I'm still using my iPhone 3GS through AT&T. Is there any upgrades to a newer phone or even a discount that I qualify for?
I'm still using the original iPhone 3GS and after all these years it's now starting to become a problem. I was wondering if they're any free or low cost upgrades I qualify for.
The carriers do not offer "discounts" any longer, you pay full retail for the phone, either up front, or on monthly payment, locking you into a contract for that entire time. Meaning you are paying $20+ bucks a month for just the phone, on top of at least $30 to $50 bucks a month for your plan. And only the very dumb pay for overages these days, which can be forcing you to pay over $100 a month in JUST your plan. Which is how so many get behind in their bills, not knowing what they can actually afford (trying to keep up with their family and friends that know how to budget their money.
So yes you can UPGRADE (meaning pay for a new phone), but you will at the very best get 0 down, X bucks a month for the phone for 24 months plus whatever the plan costs, locking you into 2 contract, breaking either causes you to pay ETF and the full price remaining on the phone in a lump sum. The carriers have you by the balls, because if you default, they just blacklist your phone, which causes it to be unable to be activated on ANY carrier, and you get a ding on your credit for being a dead beat. Two coworkers were unable to buy homes because they skipped out on a phone bill, that they could have paid, so they missed out on being able to buy a car and a home because they didn't feel it was fair to be charged $250 for a phone bill they kept paying late.
- Why is walmart selling there iPhone 5 at a discount price? What's the catch to getting a cheaper iPhone at walmart. The cell company that I have is selling iPhone 5 for it's regular price. Why is walmart selling it cheaper? Please and than you.
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- Iphone 3gs flash ipad baseband 6.15 then downgrade possible on newer serial #? I'm not entirely sure if this will work as some say it'll brick, while few others have claimed it'll work. Can anyone verify or confirm this for sure? Basically will these methods work? Iphone 3GS with newer serial # manufactured "after" 134 (2011, week 34). 1) Flash ipad baseband 6.15 2) Then downgrade baseband using cydia to baseband 5.13 3) If above step doesn't work, downgrade to custom firmware 4.1, then use cydia to downgrade baseband to 5.13.
- How much would it cost to upgrade a iPhone 3GS to anything newer? I've had my iPhone 3GS for about a year now and I want to upgrade to a 4, 4s, or even a 5 how much would it cost? I have AT&T with a 2 year contract, and this phone was free. Would it be a better idea to go to apple or AT&T?
