IPhone 4 contract without purchase of phone?
So, my friend gave me her old iPhone 4, and I don't want to pay 800$ to get started. I was wondering, if I have the phone, can I buy a SIM and a contract and use that?
Yes, just make sure that the SIM lock matches your carrier. For example, if the iPhone was purchased on AT&T, it will only work on AT&T, unless it is SIM Unlocked, in which case you can use T-Mobile or AT&T (or any other GSM network). Same applies in reverse if it originated from T-Mobile.
However, if the phone were originally from Verizon or Sprint (or any other CDMA carrier), you will most likely not be able to use it with any other carrier as the phones are specifically designed to use those networks.
In short: If the phone was originally from the same carrier you wish to sign up with, then everything should be fine, otherwise it may be more complicated.
- Would I be able to purchase the iPhone 5c and not violate my contract? I bought the iPhone 5 two months ago and now that the 5c is out, I want to purchase it. I'm not able to upgrade, but what if I just went to the apple store and bought it. Would my phone company let me activate it?
- Will a IPhone 4s phone still work even if i buy one without a contract? Okay, So i'm buying an IPhone 4s off of Amazon and it has a Sprint plan. I do not have a sprint plan but i was wondering if i could still use it for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth without actually having a plan? Will this work? Or will i have to have a plan prior to actually using it?
- What no contract monthly phone plan can I purchase for my iPhone 4? I have an iPhone 4 that I had from AT&T. I currently have no phone plan and no phone number. I'm using it for mainly Internet so it needs to be a data plan, I've found a couple plans but none of them seem to be good for an iPhone 4 from AT&T
- Is it better to buy a iphone with a contract or without a contract? Because with a contract you have to pay monthly fees $60 - $100 and without a contract you pay more for the phone without the monthly fees
