IPhone 4 disconnected from phone line?
I disconnected my iPhone from sprint about 4 months now but my iMessage and Facetime work with Wi-Fi. Last night I tried to send an iMessage to my husband and it wouldn't send. It would try to send as a text message and fail. I tried everything even reset the iPhone and iMessge won't work it the Internet works fine. Then my husband told me that someone else iMessaged him back saying they just got that phone number the same one I use for iMessage. What's going on? How can I fix it?
You can't fix it. The number belongs to them now. It was just hanging on to your old number. He can still message you through your apple ID though.
You will have to change your phone so that it identifies you through your Apple ID, which is an email address, not a phone number. You will still be able to use iMessage and FaceTime the same as you could before, you will just have to give people your new address.

- Will my Iphone still say 3G if it is disconnected? I have an Iphone 4s and it is updated to IOS 7 and It says I have 3G and I have signal but everytime I send a message it says that the message was not delivered and it won't let me use the internet or anything that requires data such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I tried resetting my network settings but it didn't work. I can still call and stuff, but I'm not sure what else to try. Thanks in advance for any help. I can also receive text messages.
- Why does the Wi-Fi on my iPhone 4 keep getting disconnected? When I'm using my phone the Wi-Fi keeps getting disconnected and goes to 3G then 4 seconds or so later it goes back on. This happens every minute.
- Why can my iPhone text other iPhones when my phone is disconnected? Today around 10am my iPhone got disconnected (hadn't paid my bill yet), I went to text my aunt (who doesn't have an iPhone) and the messages wouldn't send, 30 minutes later I texted my friend who does have an iPhone and I could successfully send and receive messages. And as of 9hr later, I was able to text another person with an iPhone. What's up with this? Not complaining or anything, just curious why it's happening.
- When i plug my iphone into my laptop then turn it off it says its disconnected why? Ok so i usally plug my ipod into my laptop and turn it off and it usally says its still connected but now i have a new laptop and when i turn it off it says its dissconnected my laptop is a windows 7
