IPhone 4 got wet, now screen (only the screen) will not respond to touches?

I have a air conditioner in my window and that small crack between the air condition and the window allowed water to come through and get water on my iphone. There's a very small hole due to dropping it and cracks formed it. NOW the screen won't work and i have dried it, tried using it (it works 2/10 times and quits). It doesn't turn off or show anything else but unresponsive screen. I have a new screen coming in the mail and i'm just wishing to god my iphone will still work. Can you give me advice to fixing it right now? I don't want just rice as suggestions.

Added (1). EVERY function on it entirely works, except the screen. I have to find the rice, but i'm guessing it won't work because the water won't magically go to the rice that is outside the phone. I get my replacement screen in April 1st (Stupid hong kong shipping) I'm wishing it works. Thank you!

Added (2). *UPDATE* I have fixed it, i simply put it in a glove (fuzzy winter glove) and set it ontop of the floor heater. No moisture on it at all it it works perfectly fine.

Try putting your phone in a bowl of rice, the rice will absorb the moisture from your phone. Leave it there for AT LEAST 12 hours.

Rice isn't a real solution. People simply enjoy making fun of asians (which isn't right). If all of the different buttons work, (ie you can feel either vibrations when you press them or your phone still makes noises) your phone will still work. As long as it's ONLY the screen.

EDIT: Rice won't do ANYTHING. There will still be moisture in the phone.

It sounds like it is not the screen, but the digitizer, which controls the touch, is fried. Usually, the digitizer is fused together with the glass display, so your replacement screen should also include this, and fix the problem.

If by chance the screen you ordered is just the glass, then it will do you no good. But my guess is it should include the digitizer.
