IPhone 4 Home Button not working at all (Water Damage)?

I accidentally spilt some coffee on the table and the spill reached my iphone also on the table, but only into the dock connector. I tried playing some music and it was really fuzzy, crackling and quiet on full volume but eventually the speakers have started working properly again (I think), it still charges however I had to restore it and it went into recovery mode continuously but i've now managed to put all my data back onto it and it's working again.

NOW the only problem is the home button I think. It is not working at all, and I think when I press the home button in I can feel a bit of moisture. Another thing that keeps happening is that it keeps spontaneously going into voice control a lot more often than it did earlier just after it got water damaged.

My brother had my iPhone once and he dropped it into a puddle and the home button stopped working, but eventually after a few days of using the assistive touch feature it began working again?

So what now, any suggestions and is it still working with it continuously entering voice control?

I think you might have already done some damaged to your iPhone 4 by using it while it still had moisture inside, short circuiting your Home Button.

It might one day work like new again, but chances are it might not.

Here are a few suggestions.

-Turn it off and put it in rice in a ziplock bag for 2 days. Resist the temptation of turning it on. But this should have been done before your pressed the Home Button while it was wet. This shouldn't work on coffee, but it works well if it was just water.

-Bring it to Apple Store and tell them you want a new iPhone 4. I've heard stories where customers did that and it worked (some because the customer was drop dead gorgeous, some because the customer was just yelling and making a scene) but just try it and see if that works.

-sell it on eBay. People buy damaged iPhone 4 all the time and yours still works. Use the money to buy an iPhone 4S and since you've backed up everything, just restore it back on to your new iPhone.

Sorry about what happened to your iPhone. Your options are limited, but I hope what I've said helps you out even if it's just a little bit.

Go to settings -> general -> assistive touch -> (switch on)
Or you can just get an Xperia Z

Maybe you need to open the iphone cover and clean it to see if it is work
