IPhone 4, how to clear dialer pad?

I'm sick of my dad saying every time I try to dial a new number, the old number is there and you have to delete it with the x button, I believe it's the iPhone 4 it has the white back with the ugly cheap broken plastic on it and its on its latest ios if that helps, how do you get it so when he makes a call it doesn't have the old number?

Added (1). It won't start blank? My galaxy s2 does so I guess I don't understand

If you press and hold the x button the number deletes instantly.

The previously dialed number isn't there when I use it. It goes on its on. The iPhone 4 has no plastic on it btw.

When I touched the "+" button to make a new note, a random note appeared and it said, "Holy crud, you never sleep do you"… I checked the date and it said today at 7:03 am.   • IPhone/pod/pad 6.1.3 jailbreak I know there's a jailbreak out there for the 6.1.3 updated idevices, i have searched EVERYWHERE but still no luck with a legit jailbreak!   • Where is the dialer on WhatsApp? I'm using the latest version of the official app with iPhone 7. When I press the phone icon I only get a list of my contacts who are using WhatsApp. How can I dial the number of someone not in my contacts list?
