IPhone 4 instant messaging problem?

Why does my iPhone 4 keep sending my I'm From my email address. I. E I send one and the recipient tells me it's from my email address! Not my phone number. I'm on 02. Anyone else had this problem?

Its not a problem its by design, if you have iMessage enabled (settings) you send messages to another idevice via web and not SMS, if no connection available it defaults to SMS.

The default 'sender' appears as your iTunes ID not mobile (usually but not always for some reason!).

iMessages show as blue and SMS green.

You also can enable delivered/read messages.

Get used to it, its superb.

  • What does Instant Savings with Contract mean? Http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/apple/iphone/5-16gb-white-refurb.html#fbid=Pp2YZyxG-bJ I want to buy a phone from AT&T and it says the price is $149.99. The regular price was $599.99 and subtracted $450.00 with the instant saving with contract. I used to have Verizon but decided to switch to AT&T so I do not already have a contract with them. Does the instant saving with contract mean I have to have already a contract with them so the phone would cost $149.99?
  • Problem with text messaging on iPhone? My mother has an iPhone, and today I got my first. However, whenever I send a receive texts, they go to her iPhone as well. This did not happen at all with my last phone, which was an android. Why is this happening? It's irritating, and I need a fix as soon as possible.
  • Problem with iPhone text messaging? Ever since I downloaded the new iOS my text messages all have the current date and time on them instead of the actual date and time they were sent or received. Any idea what is going on or how to fix this?
