IPhone 4 keeps on losing signal and tells me that no SIM is inserted?

But I've never removed the SIM card before and I haven't dropped/damaged this phone yet.
I have this phone for about 6 months now.

Does the phone need replacing?

Yes it does. The warranty might come in handy since you didn't harm the device.

This happened to me too. I read online somewhere that it would help if I put it in a bowl of rice for 7 days straight. I thought it was a joke, but it actually worked. I would try that.

I have a 3gs unlocked and jailbroken iphone and it keeps loosing signal randomly, i can't send or receive calls or messages and it will randomly go off. Is it possible i need to jailbreak it again? And at times i turn on airplane mode then off and i'll recover signal for a couple of moments and i've tried turning it on and off as well as taking out the sim card, problem has been on going for 3 days -thanks

I've always been happy with apple products until just this Saturday I was at my aunts house where you get no service and when I got back to my house I still had no service and could barely get Wi-Fi.   • Since iOS 6 update, my Verizon iPhone 4 service keeps dropping and loosing signal? Since I updated my iPhone 4 (Verizon) to iOS 6, my cell signal is constantly dropping or searching. Doing so also kills my battery life. Any body have the same problem? What can I do to fix this?
