Iphone 4 or Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate?

I'm now able to upgrade from a messaging phone to a smartphone and these two free phones are my options. Any ideas on which one i should get?

both have the same function, just different in appearance and luxury

iphone is definitely more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate, but its function can't beat Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate
