Iphone 4 screen won't turn on?

I was on my iPhone 4 when suddenly it froze. I waited 5 or so minutes and it didn't unfreeze so i locked it, and waited awhile and pressed the lock button again and the screen won't turn on. Its been like that for about an hour. I tried calling it and it went straight to voicemail, and i plugged it in to charge and it made a sound indicating it was charging.so I'm confused. What should i do?

Resetting it is as simple as turning it off completely and then turning it on. Should do it. I have an iPhone4S, NO PROB.

Time for a hard reset.

I advice you to visit a professional store for apple maintenance, and you should not plug it in the charger again it might crashes the board just leave it as it is.

Hold down the power and home buttons at the same time to do a reset.
