Iphone 4 taking ages to send texts?

It doesn't to it all the time, but the loading bar at the top that says its sending just freezes and takes ages to send the message, i always have full signal and i've tried resetting network settings… How do i fix this?

If your phone is still under the Apple - 1 Year - Warranty, book an appointment with the Apple Genius bar. This is the first thing you can possibly do.

But I have a couple of suggestions, especially my first one, this one is a major one.

1. You my have a 'massive' back-log of messages on your message thread. Like for example, I might have a text log open to my sister but I might have over 1000 texts on that log that I haven't deleted… Try deleting some of the text log that you don't really need/want. Or delete all of them. Also this doesn't just stand for that one Message log, do this to all messages on your Phone.

2. Make sure you don't have too many apps, go through your apps and delete unnecessary ones. This may cause your phone to 'slow-down' including your messages.

3. Doing the same as number 2, deleting unnecessary apps, do the same with picture/photos.

4. Go to Safari, make sure you don't have too many pages open at once.

5. Make sure your battery is up or even full battery.

6.It may not need any of these steps because it may just be your friends phone! IPhone best deal with sending messages to other iPhones, just like Samsung's are designed best to send to other Samsung's… So what I'm saying is that if you're sending from an iPhone 4 to an Nokia, this may be what it is.

Also if you are sending to another iPhone, make sure you have iMessage on! This is almost always instant messages.
