IPhone 4 with water damage, broken and working?

Last night I dropped my iPhone 4 in a hot tub and it seems pretty screwed! Nothing comes up on the screen, and I have tried to ring it without any joy (although the phone I was ringing of did ring), but I got a text earlier and it beeped my text tone! Also when I flip the silence switch and it vibrated. Also the torch is permanently on.
Any ideas? Am planning on taking it into an apple store but does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

Theirs a sensor in the phone that detect water damage. Apple likely will not cover it under warranty so you will have to pay to get a new one. Somewhere around 150-200$ if they have any left in stock.

I would recommend that you fill a large ziplock with rice and that you place your phone inside the bag for 24 hours. The rice will get rid of the moisture and hopefully your phone will function normally again.

  • Is my iPhone broken (water damage)? About 5-6 minutes ago, I dropped my iPhone in the toilet. I dried it off, and the screen was fuzzy. Then the screen went really dark, to the point where I can barely see it. I tried turning it off, but the touchscreen isn't working Is there anything I can do?
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
  • IPhone 4s working again after water damage? My phone was fully submerged in water when I found it in my purse a couple days ago. It has been sitting in rice since then, so I took it out and plugged it in and it was working perfectly fine for about ten minutes, but then it told me the temperature was too hot. Any advice? Has this happened to anyone before?
