Iphone 4s camera blurry and won't focus?

I have an Iphone 4s and the rear camera won't focus close up and is blurry whenever I take photos. The reason for this is because there's a black piece that is blocking half the lens and I don't know what this is… Does anyone know what the black piece blocking my rear lens could be? It seems as if i dropped it and a piece feel down. Can this be fixed if I buy the tools to take my phone apart? The phone is no longer under warranty.

Go to a back street phone repair shop rather than buying tools for a one-off fix.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4s camera focus? So I've tried everything to try and make it focus. I tapped it with my finger, sort of smashed it on the table, I've had a look to see if the plastic is covering it, I've tapped to focus, and I hold it really far from the lens, like really far, and it never decides to focus. I don't know what to do. I think I might need to change my phone. Does anyone have any advice?
  • Why won't my iPhone 4 camera focus? Every time I go to take a photo of my nails on my phone the camera is really blurry and won't focus. The camera is not dirty and it used to work perfectly fine before. The front camera works fine how it did before its just the back camera that's playing up. How can I get my back camera to work again?
  • Why won't my back camera focus on any text? I have a iPhone 5s with iOS 8. It won't let me focus on a sheet of paper with text or anything. I tap the screen lots but it doesn't help, please help me.
  • Why isn't my iPhone 4S camera auto-focus working? It stopped working ever since I got my phone screen fixed. It was months ago. I even bought a new camera part on Amazon and replaced it but it didn't make a difference. I also restored the iphone to its factory settings and still out of luck. Is there a certain camera I need for this iPhone? Like based on a model number or something?
