IPhone 4S - contract problem

My dad bought me a new phone(iPhone 4s) and I've had it for about 3 weeks. I'm on a £17 a month contract which I'm already confused about. The man in the store (vodafone) said the first bill will be more expensive than usual, due to 'pro rata' or something, and I had a text saying my first bill is £17.74. I have download the 'my Voda' app where you can check your allowances, and it said my balance was £18.90, which confused me. I knew I'd accidentally sent a picture message, but minus that, is this the first bill? I'm so confused! This bill is being texted to me on the 18th of June, but I don't know how I could have gone over my contract, I have unlimited data for the first 3 months(which I have hon over 50mb but I don't know of that's written on the my voda app and taken away after) or is it for something else? My dad will be so annoyed if I've gone over my contract, please help!

So 17.74 will be your 1st bill
(a little bit over - about 1 month + 1 day by the look of it)

and will be your balence until it is paid.
If you spend more (outside your allowance) that will add to your balence
18.90 - 17.74 = 1.26 (is that the cost of a picture MMS or 2?)

The balence will return to 1.26 when the 17.74 is paid.
You have only been invoiced for it so far, you pay it a little later.
i.e. You are warned how much it will be, and then you arrange to pay it
(even if it is automatic - you need to make sure the money is available to be taken).

Data - yes, all Voda contracts are truely unlimited in the 1st 3 months,
then if you are a regular higher user, they suggest an upgraded plan or bolt on for more data.

  • Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
  • Which is better iphone 5s plan, contract or no contract? I want to get an iphone 5s but i don't know if it's better to get a contract plan or a no contract plan. I would be having to pay every month with a contract and that's annoying. Yet with a contract i wouldn't have to pay that much for the phone would i? If i got the non contract i would get to pay the bill when i want but i would have to pay full price for the phone.
  • Where can you buy a white iPhone 64GB on contract (Read below for my problem)? I wanted to get a white iPhone 64GB on contract and I contacted O2 and they said that they are out of stock, is there any way I can order this from O2 or any way to get what I want? I will give a best answer straight away for a solution to this. IPhone 4S is the phone, sorry.
  • Should I get iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S? No contract or with contract? I don't know what exactly is so much better with the 5 compared to 4S? I'm thinking to get it with no contract because I'll be in Europe over the summer so I'll need another contract over there for a few months so that likely wouldnt work if I got a 2 year contract here in the US is the 5 much more expensive than the 4s? and does the price vary a lot if I buy with/without contract?
