IPhone 4s power button not working but proximity sensor does?

My iPhone 4s has an issue with its power button. I had it replaced because the button was completely dead and the proximity sensor was unresponsive too. Now its been replaced the proximity sensor works great and the power button clicks but nothing happens when its pressed. I should mention that my iPhone is out of warrenty too. Any ideas why it might be doing this? I'm so sick of having to use assistive touch to lock my screen and once booted down having to resort to plugging my iPhone onto charge to reboot anyone else had this issue?

Sounds like the home button is unresponsive due to wear of the sensor inside. Just watch a how to vid on youtube to find out how to take the screen off and buy a replacement part. Since its out of warranty taking it apart won't affect anything.

I took my ipad's screen off to fix the home button. It was out of warranty. Just don't force anything.

Millions of people have had this issue. It is very common. In fact, there was a lawsuit about it but it was dismissed. Apple makes horrible products that are designed with components that don't last. Apple products are basically disposable hence why they come out with a new model every year.
