IPhone 4S rear camera not working?

I decided to try to replace my front glass of my phone by myself, and when I put the phone back together the rear camera wouldn't work. I downloaded an app that would allow the front camera to work. I bought a replacement camera from eBay, but that one won't work either. Is there something else I could replace?

It's well known that camera phones are junk. If you want to do photography buy a real camera.

My guess it that you damaged the logic board connector for the rear facing camera and it won't seat correctly. Try looking to see if any of the connector pins are bent or broken.

Or you could take the other guys suggestion and duct tape a DSLR to the back of the iPhone so you can take real pictures (whatever that means), but that doesn't seem very practical…

  • Why is my iphone 5 rear camera suddenly blurry? So it's not that it's dirty, I've tried cleaning it. It was literally fine yesterday but all of a sudden it like won't focus. When I first switch to the rear cam, for a split second it's fine. Then it just goes to being unfocused. Is it just a problem with the auto focus?
