IPhone 4s vs iPhone 5? First iPhone, need opinions?

I've had an iPad 2 and am getting rid of it because I'm not around wi-fi enough. I'm strongly considering getting an iPhone and am trying to decide if I want to spend $100 on a 4s or $200 on a 5. If I'm going to have an iPhone, I want something that'll keep me for 2 years. My concern with the 4s is that in two years, it'll be VERY outdated whereas the 5 will only be just outdated somewhat.

I'm a content person so I could live with the 4s but am just trying to decide if it's worth dropping $100 extra for the 5?

I think the iPhone 5 *is* worth more than the 4S, but I'm not sure it's worth $100 more. The screen is a little bigger and that's really the only main big improvement, but there are several other minor improvements.

Also remember that the 5 has the new smaller lightning connector, so cables and docks you already have from your iPad 2 won't work (but they will work for the 4S). If you have to buy new cables or adapters, that will increase the price for the 5 beyond $100 more.

Not worth it to me.who cares if its a couple years outdated, as long as i works.save the money for something more important.

I got the 4s a couple of months ago because

1) It was 100 dollars versus 250 for the iPhone 5
2) I have a friend who has the 5 and she said she wished she had gotten the 4s instead

The main reasons that it boiled down to were the fact that the 4s can do just about everything the 5 can do, and also I liked the design of the 4s better. The iPhone 5 is made out of aluminum, whereas the 4/4s is glass and steel. Aluminum is not as sturdy, and my friend with the 5 told me her sister had gotten the 5 and it had literally bent on one edge.
