Iphone 4s without extending contract?
I have sprint and am currently in a 2 year contract. If I buy my friends iphone 4s because they got a new iphone 5, can I switch to that iphone instead of my current phone without having to renew my contract and just have activation fees or whatever little fees?
I don't want to renew my contract and to buy them new without it is way too expensive.

I can't just deactivate my current phone and activate the iphones, say my phone broke and I bought my friends used phone?
Yes if it has a sim card. Just insert the sim card. I wouldn't even tell em but if you must just say you got it from a friend lol they'll think you stole it but F it its still free
Since i don't believe sprint uses a sim card you can't just pull and swap them.
anyways, to answer your question yes. That would be the same thing as if you were to buy a new phone at full price and have it put on your plan. You only have to renew if you want to buy a phone from sprint and want that discount. If you buy your own phone you can leave your contract as is (unless you don't have data or a smartphone plan, than you'll have to grab that as well) i've bought and sold phones with a few friends as well and all you do is call or go online and put in the numbers under the battery.

If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
