IPhone 4s won't turn on, NEED PHOTOS?

Yeah i know, i really should have backed up my files, but i didn't, thus why i'm asking the question.

so, my iphone 4s won't turn on, the only responce i'm getting out of it is when i plug it into a charger, the apple sign comes on straight away, BUT THATS IT!
i can't turn the phone off while its connected to a charging point or even when its not connected, all i'm getting is the apple sign.
is there any way that anyone knows of that i would be able to retrieve my photos without taking it to a shop?
if anyone at all can suggest anything that can help, Please DO!

Added (1). i can't sync it to my laptop as it still only shows that apple sign.

Added (2). its not showing any signs of working on the charger, itunes, anything! As i said, all its doing is showing the apple sign but only when plugged into some sort of charging sorce.

i'm not totally sure why it happened. I have dropped my phone a fair few times.

it happened the other day, i was sitting outside, scrolling through facebook, when BAM! It just turned off. I thought maybe it was due to having low battery life (even though it was showing approx 10% before it turned off)
but yeah, since then i can't get it to switch on or be reconised by itunes. I really want my photos back.

You can try synching it to a pc.

Is it showing any signs in working with ITunes and how did that happen?
