IPhone 5 battery drains quickly, anyone else having the same problem?

My i5 battery seems to drop 10-20% on standby fully charged. Not only that, while I'm using it, I can literally see a percent drop every minute. I make sure all apps are closed, all location services are off, push notifications are off, the brightness on my screen in dimmed and Wi-Fi is off while I'm out. It makes a difference, but not much. Usually the phone will last 5-6 hours. Sometimes 4.

I took it to the Apple store and they told me they couldn't replace it because the diagnostic read the phone is working properly. After I then proceeded to explain how horrible the battery is, show screen shot proof and debunked all their theories on me making this up. They still wouldn't replace it. The Apple clerk told me its the software, not the battery If I restored it twice (which I did, used back up the first time, then registered it as a new phone) and still having the same results.

Then he told me all he could was replace the battery (WTF?), and If the problem continued call Apple Care to replace it, because the warranty for battery issues is through them. Is anyone having similar problems with their i5? Will Apple be coming out with an update to fix this? Thanks.

And please, If you came here to tell me how much better Android or Galaxy S3 is, please keep it to yourself.

Go get the battery replaced.

If you are using the iPhone internet, and by your Carrier name there's "LTE", that will drain your battery quickly. LTE makes your internet superfast. To turn LTE off, go to settings>general>cellular and turn off LTE. Also, turning off battery percentage would help a bit.

Don't replace your battery or anything, when you first bought your iphone you used it right away without charging it, buy a app called battery doctor, make you charge zero (till it turns off and won't turn back on) then charge it completely full using the battery doctor app( worked for me) after 5 cycles, you won't need the app anymore, this is the best way =D
this is tested

It is more likely the software. In particular iOS 6.0.1 & 6.0.2. I had an iPhone 5 from the debut and iOS 6.0 was fine. No issues, but since 6.0.1 came out its been a killer. 6.0.2 came out to fix a bug but unfortunately its the same issue as far as battery drainage.

So hopefully iOS 6.1 which should come out with a month's time should solve it once & for all.

  • My battery drains so quickly. Why? I'm not even on my phone for a hour and it goes from 100% to 75%.So far today all I have done is go on tumblr. I haven't texted or listened to any music. Yes I have my data on. I have a iPhone 4S and i got it 5 months ago. Why does it drain so much?
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • Is anyone else having this problem with Kik? So when I disconnect from my Wi-Fi to go places and when I try to send my friends a video it'll never send until I hook back up to Wi-Fi again. I have an iPhone 6 with Sprint and usually when I do try to send something I make sure I have full bars of LTE but it'll never work.
  • Is anyone else having this problem? BBM for iPhone? I just got the new BBM App for iPhone, but it just keeps telling me I'm waiting in line. Is this happening for anyone else and is there anyway I can fix it? It has been like this since about 10pm last night.
