IPhone 5 charger getting hot? - 1

It is an official iPhone charger which came with the phone and i have noticed the problem from yesterday. The charger gets really hot, even when i'm not using the phone while it is charging. Yesterday while charging my phone, the phone itself was getting quite hot as well as the charger but i put this down to me using the phone while it was charging.

Today, i kept the phone in a well ventilated area and didn't really use it while charging. It was cool for the most part however the charger was burning hot again. This was after about 5 minutes of charging. I don't want to keep charging my phone if it could cause damage/fire. Any thoughts? Should i just buy a replacement charger?

BAD charger cable of course. Get a new one

Most chargers get warm when they are actively charging a device. Both my charger and my Samsung Galaxy get quite warm while charging. But not to the point of actually burning anything. I notice that my charger and phone get quite warm when your phone is actively downloading something, or have allot of multitasking going on in the background, as in multiple apps running at one time.
