IPhone 5 charger getting hot?
So my iPhone has been plugged in for about 20% into my wall charger (the one that came with it) and it feels pretty warm! The iPhone is charging fast and the only problem is the heat of the wall connecter. The charger is plugging up to a good working extension cord, and the USB part is definitely good, just bought it a week ago, and the iPhone almost 2 weeks ago. It's an iPhone 5
Added (1). The metal part that connects into the socket isn't hot at all, Just the outside of the charger
Could be a defective lightning cable, I too had a defective one which Apple replaced. Do a google search on the issue, there's a ton of reports about them. I'd get it replaced if I were you.
Charging cables affect a lot during charging. Original cables usually are better than the generic ones. And for the wall charger, i will recommend some charger with UL certification, which is safe and not so hot. I have found one on Amazon. You may search "[UL Certified] iClever® 3.1A 15W Dual USB Travel Wall Charger" to find it on Amazon. Quite good product.
