IPhone 5, do I have to pay for LTE?

I'm planning on getting an iPhone 5 tomorrow, I was wondering what is LTE. Is it free Wi-Fi where I can download apps and watch youtube videos anywhere? Also what's the difference between 4g, 3g, and LTE?

4G is LTE. You really don't get anything but faster data. You don't have to pay extra.

LTE is just another name for 4G. 3G and 4G are both the kind of data you pay for, which your phone uses when it needs Internet and it's not on Wi-Fi. The only difference is 4G isn't available in as many places as 3G, but it's faster than 3G. You pay the same whether your phone is using 3G or 4G.

LTE refers to 4G LTE which is the data transmission technology currently used in 4G phones. 4G means the 4th generation of wireless standards, while 3G is the 3rd of course. Newer standards means faster speeds to put it simply as things improve over time.

You do have to pay for 4G service because its wireless data. You can use it anywhere you get 4G service which may not be available everywhere. If it isn't, you may only get 3G or 2G speeds.

Lte means your internet is fast. To get an iphone you must have a data plan, wich limits how much data you can use. If you go over your limit you pay like 15 bucks.yes you can watch videos everywhere. If you watch alot of videos get sprint because they have unlimited data. ALso if you have Wi-Fi at home your phone will connect to it automatically.

If you don't know the difference between Wi-Fi, 3g, 4g, and LTE… Then it won't make a difference to you. Just get the phone lol

  • Will a Verizon iPhone 5 have LTE service if used on Straight Talk? Just a quick question for iPhone experts. I recently decided I want an iPhone 5 and have a friend who raves about his s3 on Straight Talk. I have the opportunity to buy a Verizon iPhone 5 from a friend for cheap, but i'd like to know if I will receive LTE service when using it on Straight Talk. If not, I will just go with a Straight Talk iPhone from their website.
  • Why is my iPhone 5 saying I either have 3G or LTE? I bought the iPhone 5(: I know it's a 4G phone, but why does it either say 3G or just LTE at the top? I don't get it? Occasionally it will have 4G LTE but not in the last few days…

  • Verizon upgrade fee? Can I pay at the store or do I have to pay it the next bill? I plan on upgrading my phone and renewing my contract next month in January. I plan on getting the iPhone 5s. I'm on this family plan with one line. Is there's an activation fee that I have to pay? Can I pay the upgrade fee at the store while purchasing the new phone? Or do I have to pay it on the next bill?
