Iphone 5 locked to AT & T, anyway to unlock it for NZ carriers without paying?
I have an Iphone 5 given to me by a friend in USA when I was over there but when i put my telecom sim card into it I get a message saying it is locked to AT&T is there any free software or way to unlock it to be used in NZ carriers.
That is something AT&T would have to do. I would call customer care.
Nope. Either your friend would have to request AT&T unlock it (assuming it is paid off for/off contract) or you would have to go through sites like Chronic Unlocks for it to work.
- Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?

I got screwed on a letgo deal purchased an iPhone and it turns out that it's activation locked I messaged the person back asking for the id and password and they blocked me so they obviously intentionally screwed me over is there anyway I can unlock the phone without the id & password?
