IPhone 5 not being connected to iTunes on the computer (device timed out)?

When I try to plug my ipihone 5 (iOS8) to my laptop (latest iTunes) it won't show up on my PC's device list (i want to take photos from my phone) and on iTunes it says it won't connect beacuse the phone timed out.

What can I do?

1. Try another USB cord or USB cable.
2. Restrart your computer for a try.
3. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this way can fix many general iPod problems.
4. Update your iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
5. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
6. If you just want to transfer photos from your iPhone to computer, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
