IPhone 5 not making alert or message noise?

I got my brand new iPhone 5 yesterday it is going great except my phone isn't making any noise when I get a email or a new text I have rebooted my phone and gone through All my settings and have found nothing wrong my volume is on the loudest setting my music still plays like I can hear the music through both headphones and speaker does a anyone know how I can fix it

Well if you have been through all the settings it's back to the store
But you could try this first
in your messenger click on
Messenger / Preferences / Alerts and sounds, then at the bottom
make sure the it is set to make a sound and not on mute
if it is then change it and Save

  • Why is my iPhone 5s home button making a weird noise? I know that its a button and that its supposed to click, and it did in the beginning. My phone is less than 4 months old, and recently when pushing the button it makes a cracking or crunching noise.
