IPhone 5 on T-Mobile.is it 3G?
I just got an iPhone 5 today and have T-mobile carrier. I've heard that T-Mobile is upgrading their network and will finish supporting 3G on iPhones nationwide sometime in 2013, which is right around the corner.
My question is, if your iPhone says '3G' in the corner, does it mean it's already 3G? I live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex area, so it might not be a far stretch to think that T-Mobile already supports 3G for iPhones in my area. But when I tried it earlier, it was kind of slow. Did I just happen upon someplace that didn't have the greatest connection, or does the phone automatically say 3G but is still operating on 2G speed?
T-Mobile is expected to officially get the iPhone in 2013. No longer a rumor as Apple & T-Mobile have said that they are getting Apple devices in 2013 (they didn't state which specifically). Just saying that for the record.
Well if the iPhone is saying 3G then it is 3G could be 4G as well but generally the iPhone recognizes LTE as 4G & HSPA+ still as 3G.
Also as you said, T-Mobile is upgrading their network, so you may see 3G but may operate at EDGE speeds. I'd figure that they would have a map of that upgrade on their website or somewhere. Try checking that.
- Will an iPhone 5 locked with t-mobile work with a simple mobile SIM card? I have a simple mobile SIM card and wanted to know if I could cut it down to fit my iphone 5 bought from t-mobile
- Virgin Mobile iphone 4s: Does it work on T-mobile? If I purchased the unlocked iphone 4s from Virigin mobile would I be able to use it on T-mobile? Does anybody know if the virigin mobile iphone has a spot for a sim card like the ones T-mobile uses?
- Reuse T-Mobile cut-to-use-for iPhone SIM card back to regular T-Mobile phone? Is that possible? My SIM card has been cut to fit on iPhone but I'm going to sell it next month to go back to regular T-Mobile phone. I still have the cutout piece from original T-Mobile SIM Card. Can I re-attach micro SIM to original T-Mobile card and use it on new T-Mobile phone, or would I have to buy the new SIM card and activate it again on pay-as-go-plan?
- IPhone says T Mobile instead of Simple Mobile? So I got a new iphone today and i had to cut the sim card down for the 4s. So when i finished and put it back in the phone, it says i have T Mobile, but it is a simple mobile sim card? When i used the simple mobile sim card for the 3GS it said "simple mobile" but now that i changed it, it says t mobile. Does anyone know why this happened? And am i being like charged? Is it because i cut the card? I'm really worried right now >_<"
