IPhone 5 Screen Lifting/Battery Swelling?

I have an iPhone 5 that used to be in near perfect condition, however after an overnight charge I noticed the screen had started to lift from the phone casing ever so slightly, but this got worse over time, also before I had noticed the screen lifting I saw a kind of light pink-y pressure mark kind of thing that shows on white screens and it covers almost the whole middle of screen with a cm between the bottom and top of screen. A couple of times if I charged the phone, and especially if I tried to use it while charging, it would overheat and get really hot to the touch. The phone had not been dropped to my knowledge. Earlier today the touch response stopped working (all buttons are fine), it is not cracked but the screen seems to have perfectly spaced out, light pink lines that fade after a second or two after you turn the screen on, I have searched and appears to be that a wire has come loose and is an easy fix but I'm not entirely sure. I was wondering could this all be caused by a swelling battery and would Apple replace the phone (2 years, 2 months old) if this was the case, obviously out of warranty.

Get the battery replaced before it catches fire.

Either the battery or some other part of the phone is defective and needs to be replaced.
