IPhone 5 used 1GB of Data in 4 days?

I just got a new iPhone 5 with verizon, and had to switch from my unlimited plan to 2GB data a month. I thought this would be fine since I checked my passed couple months of usage and I never totalled more than about 3GB a month. But with my new iPhone, verizon says I used 1 GB in just 4 days. How is this possible? I've tried getting apps that track data usage, but they don't tell me what apps are sucking up all my data.
I'm using data at a normal level, checking facebook, looking up bus directions, and other small things like that a few times a day. Does this really add up to 500MB a day? Is there any app out there that reports exactly what your data is being used on? Are there certain background things I should turn off? Thanks

Added (1). I had data turned off all day, and I turned it on for literally a second, and in that amount of time 339MB were used. There has to be something wrong since I had no other apps open

There was a problem with the iPhone 5 with data usage. There should be an update to fix it in the general tab in settings. Sorry about that. The update should fix everything and if it doesn't, then you should contact Verizon.

Because you are using 4G. 4G network is very data hungry. It will use lots of data even if you do light work. And sometimes operators do suck. I recommend you turn off 4G for sometime and use HSPA+ Then you will see difference. And do data saving how you do battery saving.

Do you use Siri? She uses a lot of data. And as the other guy said, there might be a bug with data usage. I'm not sure if that's correct as I don't have an iPhone, but if he's correct, it's just temporary.

You may need to get a application killer to close apps when your done so they don't suck up data in the background but i would have never switched from unlimited

Make sure you have the latest OS, patch if you don't.

Apple is working on that glitch and will send out an update in the near future. It just came out so it's going to have glitches. You should check out the new Unlimited everything (including hotspot) plan that just came out. Runs off T-Mobile and at&t's 4G network for $49/mo and ends up bein free or making you money every month instead. It just launched in September and is taking the money that would other wise be wasted on the same old repetitive advertising and giving it to the people for sharing with others. $20 for every 3 people you enroll every month for as long as they have the service+another $20 for every 3 people they add as well… It adds up let me tell ya. Also coming to Europe next year
