IPhone 5 won't turn on after IOS 8 update?
I went to update my iphone 5 to the new software, it then automatically turned off and told me to connect to iTunes.
I then connected my phone to iTunes, it told me my phone was in recovery mode and I had to restore. So I restored it, after the restore was completed, my phone just stayed in the "connect to iTunes" screen. I don't know what to do, I don't know how to turn my phone on, please help.
The same thing happened to my ipod touch. I updated my itunes and tried to restore it but it won't restore, I then tried the hosts file which it told me to do, again no luck. I tried this on two different computers, no luck.
However, my ipod touch is still under warranty so I've booked in for an appointment and will be taking it back to the apple store for fixing or replacing.
For you, I would first suggest to go and recover / restore your ipod through itunes, if that doesn't work just follow the instructions and if for some reason nothing works (even if you press the power button and home button for 10 secs at the same time and let go of the power button holding onto the home button a little longer) then take it to the apple store.
Or else you may have to buy a new one?
Next time I would update my ipod over the air or not update it at all because I don't want to risk doing this with something that is out of warranty.

So, why don't you take it to the nearest Apple Store, and the Experts at the Genius Bar will help you.
No local Apple Store? Go to the Retail Store that you bought it from.
TIP: And, no, you won't have to buy a new one. And, you normally do not have to pay for the Genius Bar to fix "Upgrades gone wrong", unless you somehow damaged your iPhone 5 yourself.
OMG, really? I have iPhone 5 too and i was thinking to update to iOS8, i don't think i should do it now if this problem is occurring.

Maybe try connecting to itunes if you haven't but if that doesn't work put it in and out of recovery mode. You can read instructions online for that!
This happened to me and I had to call apple support. Apple support had me make sure my iTunes and computer (I use a macbook) was updated to the latest version, then I restarted my computer and then tried to restore again and it worked that time!
