IPhone 6 got wet, turned itself off, but is not hot, what should i do?
So my kayak turned over and my iPhone got wet. I took it out and as I was trying to turn it off it froze then turned off. I tried to dry it off and get the water out of the cavities, and now it is front of a fan. I didn't put it in rice because I heard that's a myth. It is not hot to the touch and was never hot, so that is a good sign. Does anyone have any personal experience with this or know what to do?
The rice thing is not a myth. It absorbs the moisture.
Rice works, isopropyl alcohol is meant to be effective, but sounds like you fried it.
Crazy that you wrote this is as: My Kayak got turned over Saturday the 12th my iPhone 6+ turned it self off as well. I have it in rice as we speak and am going to try for the 3rd time to try to turn it on tomorrow. Based upon everything I'm reading so far it is fried…

- My iPhone turned itself off My iPhone 4 turned itself off. I tried turning it on, the normal way, and that did not work. I tried holding in the sleep and home button. And that also did not work. I tried connecting to my iTunes with my usb cord, and even that didn't work! What do i do?
- My iPhone turned itself off and back on? An hour after I completely reset the phone, the phone screen went dark and then the Apple logo appeared again. So it seems that my phone just turned itself off and back on… But does anybody have any idea why? It hasn't happened since, though.
