Iphone 6 not charging?

It's completely dead but it says its charging but it hasn't rebooted at all. It's also been like this for hours and I just got a new charger.

Shut iff the phone completely, and use a wooden toothpick (NEVER METAL!) to pick out all the lint, dust, and crud from the charging pot. If you cable wiggles at all - that is one way of telling you there's dust in there, and every time you put in the plug, it compacts it into fle - and you have poor on NO contact. If you charge you phone while it is on (do not want to miss a call, for example) then swipe out EVERYTHING ELSE - it is possible for things that are running to use power faster than the charger puts it in! When you have a chance, go into setting and remove AutoRefresh, etc, from everything except the CRITICAL things. Overnight, turn your phone DEAD OFF and charge it that way.

If you think your cable or charger are in any way damaged, try others. I sometimes charge my phone thru a TV port, or the cable box - anyplace else other than my charger - especially in hotels, where the electrical plugs are really beat up. Things wear out, and once they do not make contact - no charging.

Every so often, if you think your battery runs down fast ( and you are NOT doing stupid things like running 12 screens at once!), ON PURPOSE turn on a bunch of things that eat battery - like in you home Wi-Fi, run news, movies, radio, etc all at once - and let your phone go all the way down to the WARNING at 20 percent. Best to do this in the evening, before you go to bed - because THEN< turn the phone off, and let it charge SHUT OFF overnight. If sticking the cable it makes it come on again - SHUT IT OFF again with the cable still in. This isi like if you have been having trouble sleeping - so you force yourself to stay up Really late - and them you sleep great again.

If all these hints fail - then have a shop look at it. I have had exactly the same phone for 3 years now, and so does DH - and we have had little problems - but we learned how to fix all of them ( well - I learned - I fix his phone, he teats me to something nice.)

Battery not taking a charge. Unplug the charger, press and hold the power button for about 10 secs or until slider appears to turn off the phone. Then plug in the charger. If it still doesn't work, take it to Apple.
