Iphone back-light doesn't work. NO WATER DAMAGE

So I went to work one day and left my iPhone 4 in a locker. It was working fine at this point. When i got off work at around 1030, i grabbed my phone and noticed that it was black! I assumed it was dead so i tried charging it. When i plugged it in, it made the charging noise and when i put it in direct light, i noticed it was still working but just didn't have a back light! I'm so confused and i have no idea why it is like this. I never dropped it in water, i tried rebooting many times and its still dark!

Because it IS two generations old there's the possibility of the components of the phone beginning to show wear and tear. It may be time for a replacement if it is the digitizer; you can diagnose this yourself if you are able to receive calls regardless of the backlight being broken. If you can't your digitizer is broken and is usually an expensive repair to be made. If you are not available for upgrade and your repair is expensive i would consider getting a "cosmetic" procedure done to the phone. You can customize the color of the phone by having the faces replaced at many stores, giving your phone a personal flare and solving your problem usually for much less than the price of digitizer and finding someone who will do it.

Also due to placing the phone in your locker while powered on it was susceptible to overheating. This may have caused the wires to come loose connecting your screen to the circuit board.

  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
  • I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
  • How light is the iphone 5? Is it too light? Some people are complaining that the iphone 5 is too light. But how is that a bad thing? And how light is the phone? Is it a good phone?
